About BridgePoint

We exist to help people, all people, get closer to god.

Our Mission

BridgePoint Church exists to help people, all people, get closer to God. We do this by believing in Jesus, living His teachings, and becoming His people. We believe that through Jesus, we can become all that God desires us to be. No matter where we are, it's never too late to become the person we're meant to be.

Our Beliefs

We believe that the Bible is the written Word of God and has the authority to command our beliefs and actions. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 19:7-11)

One God
We believe that the God of the Bible is the one eternal God and the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy and is willing and able to affect every aspect of our lives. (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:17-20; Deuteronomy 6:4)

Jesus the Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only One who can reconcile us to God. Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, was born of a virgin and is both fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. (John 1:1-4; Colossians 1:15-20)

We believe that all people are loved by God, bear His image and reflect God’s glory, and are in need of salvation. (John 3:16; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)

The Reality of Sin
We believe that all that is wrong in the world is sourced in sin, which has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. The penalty for sin is death, and can only be remedied through God’s redemptive work. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-10; Romans 5:8)

We believe that we can have a right relationship with God by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, receiving forgiveness and ‘new birth’ through repentance from our sins. Only by trusting in the person and work of Jesus Christ alone can we be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy. (John 3:16-17; Romans 3:21-26; 1 Timothy 2:5-6)

We believe that Jesus is returning to judge all human beings and to establish God’s eternal kingdom forever. We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 14:3; Acts 17:30-31; Matthew 25:31-36)

The Church
We affirm that the church is the body of Christ, and that Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are people who have trusted, by faith, in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world. (2 Corinthians 5:17-20; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Acts 1:6-8)

Biblical Community
We affirm that God intends for us to live out our faith in an interdependent community. (Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-17)

Identity in Christ
We affirm that we find fulfillment and wholeness as an adopted child of God. (Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 1:3-14)

Ordinances of the Church
We affirm that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord's Supper. We affirm that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God. We affirm that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We affirm that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38-41; Matthew 28:19-20; Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

We get to give.
God takes our gifts and multiplies them. Why we give.

We focus on the 1’s and let God take care of the 0’s.
We believe God takes our obedience and multiplies our efforts to reach those far from Him.

We believe growth equals change.
Your next step may be connecting in a group, learning about baptism, or serving in the community.

We are more fearful of missing opportunities than we are fearful of failing.

Our History

BridgePoint Church was planted in 2006 with the vision to be a different church in Pinellas County, one that would reach a community that was uninterested in or detached from traditional church environments and styles. By 2010, BridgePoint grew to a church of 250 people and declared our commitment to the mission and our desire to be "all in" when we walked 3 miles from St. Pete High (a portable location at that time) to a new temporary home at the corner of Tyrone Boulevard and 9th Avenue North in St. Petersburg. Between 2010 and 2014, BridgePoint’s weekly services and programs for children, students, and adults made a profound impact in the community, experiencing significant growth by doubling in weekly attendance each year. In 2014, God provided an opportunity to purchase a permanent location in the Tyrone area. The church responded in faith and this acquisition provided the anchor location for our strategic vision of planting campuses in neighborhoods and cities throughout Pinellas County, as well as a broadcast hub for our online ministry. The Downtown St. Petersburg and Seminole Campuses launched in 2016 and 2017 respectively, both starting as portable environments. Once again, as only God can, both campuses transitioned to permanent buildings by 2017 and 2021.

BridgePoint Church continues to reach a diverse community of those new to faith and believers alike, and will continue to expand to additional neighborhoods and cities throughout Pinellas County and online through our digital ministries as God leads us. BridgePoint has both an exciting history and a bright future ahead, and our mission remains unchanged: to help people, all people, get closer to God by believing in Jesus, living his teachings, and becoming his people.

Where Do I Start?

You're welcome at BridgePoint whenever you're ready to pay us a visit. Be sure to look for the Welcome Area where we'll be ready for you with a gift and a smiling face that can't wait to meet you.

Find a Campus

Whether you're joining us online or at a campus, our services are lively and engaging.  If you join us at a campus, don't worry about dressing in "Sunday's Best" attire - we keep things pretty casual and will welcome you in whatever you're comfortable wearing.

Our services are typically 60-65 minutes in length. In that time, you can expect an impactful worship experience and relevant, biblical message from one of our pastors. Be sure to check out KidsPoint, our children's ministry for babies through 5th graders.
