Why did BridgePoint switch online giving platforms?
In short, it is good stewardship. More specifically, we regularly review agreements and contracts with service providers to make sure we are getting the best products and services at competitive prices. We discovered a way to save our church significant amounts of money in transaction fees while still providing a streamlined, secure giving experience. View more details here about why we switched.
What is a tithe?
God’s Word clearly teaches that we are “stewards” of the resources God has entrusted. A ‘benchmark’ in the practice of systematic, proportionate giving is the ‘tithe’. Tithe is a mathematical term that means “a tenth or 1/10”. It is giving 10% of your income back to the Lord.
$52,000 gross annual income divided by 52 weeks = $1,000.00 weekly $1,000 weekly x 10% = $100.00. A weekly tithe would be $100.00.
How are my gifts or tithes spent?
Each year’s annual budget and allocation is presented to members and taken to a vote in December at the Annual Members Meeting.
What if I feel absolutely unable to give or tithe?
We encourage you to begin to take the first step by committing to regularly give to the point of trust. We also offer groups and classes at our campuses that specifically focus on both practical help and spiritual development related to giving. Look for "Financial Peace University" and "The Blessed Life" classes at the beginning of each semester of classes to jump in. We’d love to walk with you to help take steps, contact your Campus Pastor to get started.
